Title: A Letter, Part 3 Author: DocBevCulver Series: TNG Codes: P/C Ratings: K+ Author's Notes: This series all started when Sandi read my first story, "A Letter" and wanted me to do a sequel. Well then it grew from there into a series. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks to Sandi for beta reading it for me. Disclaimer: "Star Trek the Next Generation" is copyrighted to Paramount. Archive: Please ask first! Feedback is welcomed. ***************************** Dear Deanna, Just wanted you to know, I did as you instructed me to do. I finally told Jean-Luc about my feelings. Okay, so I didn't do it face to face, but I was able to *write* them down and he did receive the letter. The response really wasn't what I was expecting. I had myself believing that I'd waited to long and that he didn't have the same feelings in him anymore. I should have known better! If he can love me for over 25 years, what's a few more years, right? He asked me to meet him at Star base 212 and I did. We had dinner and danced. Can you believe it? Actually, we danced for several hours, that was the real surprise. We did manage to do some talking. We argued and we both shed more than a few tears but we finally cleared the air and laid it all out on the table. We both love each other and there is nothing or no one, not even ourselves, that is going to stop it. Deanna, I'm so happy. I can't believe I wasted all that time, when I could have been happy so long ago. I know I'm stubborn and I know I deserve to be unhappy after the way I treated him, but if that's what I had to go through for these last few days, it was WELL worth it. We are going to spend the next couple of weeks here on the star base and we are going to use that time to get to know each other again. I really want to thank you for pushing me, nagging me, and for finally not taking 'no' for an answer. You're a great friend! If it weren't for you, I would be sitting on the bridge of my ship, a sad and lonely woman. I hope you and Will are enjoying your time in Alaska and I can't wait to see you in two weeks. Your wedding is going to be the best. You are marrying a good man! I've got to go now, Jean-Luc's back with dinner. Take care! Sincerely, Beverly PS - He asked me to marry him and I told him I'd have to think about it. What do you think? 05/31/01
